Yielded Vessels

John 21:18-19 NLT “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.” Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.”

Following Jesus is about becoming a yielded vessel, this means coming to a complete end of yourself and your own self-sufficiency.

It’s growing to not rely on your own ability, and trusting His sufficiency. To live in this daily we need the Holy Spirit. “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). No matter what changes God has performed in you, keep building on the Lord Jesus Christ, and allow the Holy Spirit to help you be a yielded vessel.
