Rhythms of Grace, Weekly Devotional, 20 December 2020

Don’t underestimate the power of your words. When you pray, all of hell trembles. Prayer is the most powerful vehicle to change things. Don’t allow the hurts of your past to transform you into someone you’re not. Others may overlook you, but God has seen every sacrifice you have made and seed of goodness you have sown. He is your rewarder. Things will turn around for you. Don’t quit. The same God who started the good work in you will finish it. You may have situations that look like they’ll never work out.

You don’t see how your business will make it, how your health will improve or how your child will get back on course. If you only consider the circumstances, you’ll get discouraged and give up. Don’t consider your circumstances; consider your God. Waiting on God is worth it. You are too valuable to settle for anything less than God’s best. Be patient, it will happen. Don’t allow the discomfort of the process to forfeit you out of His glorious promises.

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised” (Hebrews 10:36, NIV). Don’t be so focused on the problem you’re facing that you miss all the provision God has given you. Walk in the wisdom and Word of God. Let every enemy working against your purpose be exposed and stumble in their own foolishness. Angels have already been dispatched as an answer to your prayers. Watch what God is going to do, in the name of Jesus.
