The Clock and Compass or GPS in our modern world…
Starting out to go anywhere we factor how long it will take and which direction we are going in so we can manage not only our time but what we can do along the way…to get as much in as possible or eliminate wasting time.. because time is so precious to us!
Life’s journey is similar. However, life is far more unpredictable than the route you are taking on a simple excursion.
On the journey through life there are many obstacles and because of that most of us will choose the road that we are familiar with to avoid unnecessary risks.
Safety is paramount to us getting to our destination in good time, and should we need to rest, where would that be? We don’t want anything unexpected to occur and should someone slow our timeline down we can become quite uptight and put out. Should there be a riot on the way we will find an alternate route to avoid getting caught up in it.
So too on life’s journey when we face challenges or obstacles and even people in our lives that cause us to stumble, but we can’t put our eyes on the obstacle – we have to drive around it to avoid it or perhaps even have to find an alternate route.
Proverbs says flee the very appearance of evil.
If we sit it out at the roadblock it may take forever to clear up on its own we may even get caught up in it.
Our problems won’t go away unless we do something about it. The best part of our walk in Christ is that Jesus is our friend! We have a travelling partner for life who never leaves us no matter what we face on our journey. He gives clear direction. His Holy Spirit is our comforter and will lead us away or out of the blocks or jams that we face on the trip.
However, there may be times when He leads you to places where you don’t have any other option but that route to your destination… He will not leave you!! He will tell you and guide you as He strengthens you with His Holy Spirit and His angels will protect and keep you safe because He knows what He is taking you from and calling you to. The key is to stick to the route by staying connected to your inner GPS. As confident as you are in Maps or google maps or Ways…
Jesus’ way is the best. You can completely rely on the Holy Spirit who will guide you into all truth. Even when things seem unfamiliar. You will sense when you are actually lost or when you are chartering new territory.
- ”However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
John 16:13 NKJV
- “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:26-27 NKJV
💝Be led by the Spirit and you will reach your destination.
Don’t let the traffic on the route deter you.
Keep your heart fixed on Jesus👑
Keep going forward….
